The Faculty of Animal Husbandrysuperintended by the University of Isfahan was launched in 1977 and admitted 30 B.S. students of Animal Husbandry. The faculty was converted into an agricultural institute in 1982, and the management joined Isfahan University of Technology. Initially, Associate Degree students of Agronomical Matters (i.e., Technology of Plant Production) and Animal Matters (i.e., Technology of Animal Production) were admitted to this institute. With the establishment of the required educational environment, the institute was converted into Shahrekord Higher Education Center that, in addition to the abovementioned Associate Degree programs, admitted students to Associate Degreein Natural Resources and B.S. in Agronomy and Plant Breeding. The faculty was officially founded in 1991.
The B.S. discontinuous programs of Plant Production Engineering, Animal Production Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Machinery Engineering, and the B.S. continuous program of Soil Science Engineering have been gradually developing since 1993. In addition, students were admitted to the B.S. continuous program of Agricultural Machinery Engineering in 1999 and the M.S. program of Plant Breeding in 2000.
The Faculty of Agriculture is the earliest faculty of the university established to train skilled and specialized workforce in various programs of Agriculture. At present, the faculty admits students to 10 M.S. majors and three Ph.D. programs with six areas of expertise.
Since its establishment, the faculty has been presided over by Dr. Nematollah Etemadi, Dr. Esmaeil Asadi, Dr. Nasrollah Vali, Dr. Mahmoud Khodambashi, Dr. Ali Tadayyon, Dr. Esmaeil Asadi, Dr. Abolfazl Ranjbar, and Dr. Mahmoud Khodambashi. The incumbent Dean of Faculty is Dr. Majid Olia.
The faculty includes 70 academic members (assistant and associate professors) along with more than 1,800 B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. students.

This facility was established to grant access to the academic members and the students. Thanks to being connected to the Internet by the Central Computer Lab of the university, this center provides access to the latest scientific data as well as exchange of information via e-mails.
Library
Located in the Faculty of Agriculture, the library at present contains more than 3,000 foreign books, 6,500 Persian books, more than 20 foreign journals, and 30 national scientific journals. In addition, the Information Center includes a comprehensive collection of information banks on CDs. The academic members, researchers from other research centers, the students, and other computer users avail themselves of this collection.

In addition, the faculty’s equipped workshops offer workshop services for practical instructions.
